The NSF has approved the S4 funding for the development
of an underground accelerator facility at DUSEL. The main
goal of the facility is the measurement of low energy reaction
cross sections of relevance for stellar nucleosynthesis
processes. The Dakota
Ion Accelerators for Nuclear Astrophysics DIANA
will consist of two accelerators to cover a broader energy
range than presently possible at the LUNA facility at the
Gran Sasso underground laboratory in Italy. The figure shows
