Local high school students have participated in various research projects in experimental nuclear physics in the Nuclear Science Laboratory, including a project on techniques and development of X- and gamma-ray detection. Students work closely with JINA scientists at Notre Dame, and can earn college course credit(s).
Concurrent enrollment processes and regulations differ among school systems, so interested students should first check with their guidance counselor.
Students are selected for JINAs Research Experience Program for High School Students based on high school transcripts, college aptitude tests, written recommendations and personal essays.
