To strengthen our team of developers located at the Physics Department of the TUM, the Excellence Cluster ORIGINS is seeking for a:
Developer/ PostDoc for Particle Detector Systems (f/m/d)
You will have a leading role in our development team for state of the art detector systems for large scale experiments in particle and nuclear physics.

The Excellence Cluster ‘ORIGINS: From the origins of the Universe to the first building blocks of life‘ (www.origins-cluster.de) started in January 2019 and is funded within the framework of the Excellence Strategy of the German Research Foundation (DFG). The interdisciplinary research project is a cooperation of the Ludwig-Maximilians- Universität (LMU) and the Technical University of Munich (TUM) as well as the Max Planck Institutes for Astrophysics (MPA), Extraterrestrial Physics (MPE), Physics (MPP), Plasma Physics (IPP) and Biochemistry (MPIB), the European Southern Observatory (ESO) and the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ), sourcing state of the art experiments in a wide field of applications. Innovative detector solutions, modern tools of digitization, data handling and code development are key components for the success. To strengthen our team of developers located at the Physics Department of the TUM, the Excellence Cluster ORIGINS is seeking for a:
Developer / PostDoc for Particle Detector Systems (f/m/d)

Your tasks:
• Development for state of the art detector systems, ranging from the conceptual design and layout of PCBs to the programming of controls and integration into large scale experiments.
• Setup, startup and testing of experiment equipment at the local laboratories but also at the large scale facilities distributed all over the planet.
• Hard- and Software implementation of digital data acquisition systems.
• In a team of PhD students you will have a leading role to perform several experiments already planned at CERN and FAIR.

Your Profile:
• Master or PhD degree in physics, electronics or related fields.
• Extended experience in silicon particle detector systems and their corresponding electronics.
• Experience in nuclear or particle physics is advantageous.
• You got the ability to work independently as well as in different project teams and you are especially ready to work with students and give them advice in your field of work.
• Very good English and German skills.

Your, up to full-time position at the TUM will start at the earliest possible date. The position is initially limited up to 4 years. Salary will be determined according to the German collective wage agreement in public service (TV-L).
