(IReNA) Postdoctoral Position in Theoretical Astrophysics

Institute for Nuclear Physics, Technische Universität Darmstadt Darmstadt , Germany

Published Thu, 01/09/2020 - 10:34 AM Expiration Fri, 01/31/2020 - 12:00 AM or until the posting is filled

Postdoc and PhD positions are available in the Theoretical Astrophysics group at the Institute for Nuclear Physics, Technische Universität Darmstadt.

The EUROPIUM group works along two lines to understand the origin of heavy elements:

·        astrophysics simulations of supernova explosions and compact binary mergers that probe nuclear matter at the extremes,

·        nucleosynthesis calculations that involve the most neutron-rich nuclei.

The PhD positions are for three years. The fellows will be integrated in the research activities of the group and the Institute. Qualification requirements: The postdoc candidate should have a physics PhD (or equivalent) and background on nuclear astrophysics. Applications including CV, research statement, and names of two potential referees should be sent to: almudena.arcones@physik.tu-darmstadt.de
