Postdoctoral Position

The Low Energy Nuclear Physics Group at the Physics Division, Argonne National Laboratory is now inviting interested applicants to apply for a Postdoctoral Appointee position to conduct research in the field of Experimental Nuclear Structure at the Argonne Tandem Linac Accelerator System (ATLAS). Preference will be given to candidates with experience in studies of exotic nuclei using recoil separators coupled to gamma-ray detector arrays.

The successful candidate must have:

· Recently received his/her Ph.D. in physics or a discipline related to low energy nuclear physics within the last 3 years

· Experience at conceiving and executing experimental research projects and reporting the results

· Strong background in the area of nuclear structure

· Experience with computer programming and data analysis.

The position is for 2 years, with the possibility of extension for up to 3 years depending on funding and performance.
