Postdoctoral Position in Nuclear Astrophysics/Neutron detector array

The ERC-project SHADES has an immediate opening for an experimental nuclear physics postdoctorate. The position is located at the INFN Gran Sasso National Laboratory and aims at aims to construct a novel neutron detection array to perform measurements of critical nuclear reactions for astrophysics.

The postdoctoral researcher will be a major contributor to the installation and execution of the experiment in the Gran Sasso underground laboratory. Candidates must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in physics. Hands-on experience with nuclear-physics related experimental setups is reqiuired, experience with detector simulations using Geant4 is advantageous. The contract duration is 1 year with possible extensions up to a maximum of three years. Salary is on the higher side of Italian postdoctoral wages, taking prior experience of the candidate into account.
